What's that familiar phrase? "And now, the rest of the story..."
| As you may remember, Cathy is in the thick of it, all her Daybreak Block pieces are cut and first round of assembly chain pieced, and Ironed. Next step - Trimming the blocks. If you know Cathy and I, you know that when Cathy jumps in the car, way over there in Arizona, she gives me a call and this is EXACTLY what she did, only this time it was in complete frustration! You know how it is when you are ready to keep working on a project and yep, you can't find the tool you need. Cathy searched high and low, called me to ask if I had any idea where she could have put it and I was so SURE it was in her room with her other rulers. She was looking for her Lori Holt 2 1/2" Cute Cuts ruler. It makes SUCH quick work of trimming the blocks. |

| So, off to her local quilt shop she goes because she is on a roll and needs to get to it! She gets back and sends me this text... Under the picture she writes, So Yes, I DID BUY a new one today. When I got home, I held up the New one to 'this' 1 1/2" one. Ok, so I'm looking at it wondering if she was OK, cuz this one IS a 2 1/2" Cute Cuts Square!!!! In the next second the phone rings with a giggle going on the other end.... Sisters, gotta love them!!!! So now she has two! And did you see the Martelli Round Cutting Mat? That is the perfect companion for Lori Holt's Cute Cut Squares! |

| On with the story.... More pictures show me she is settling in to using her "New" Cute Cuts Square trim-it ruler Again, I am so inspired to get going on a project when I see how pretty and organized everything is... |

| More pictures came in with the next steps in the Daybreak by Thimble Blossoms pattern and before you know it, a Layout!! YAY! With room to 'envision' sashes and cornerstones. Cute! Love the movement - Looks like a "Star Toss" right? |

| And now, the Top is DONE!!! Sweet! I can't wait to see how she quilts it! |

In addition to what is in the CaDi Candy Cache Mystery box, Cathy decided to make all the star points in the same color, using (3/4 yd) Bella Solid 9900 236 Nautical Blue She decided on Bella Solid 9900 200 Off White for the background (4yds). For the sashing, she selected Sunwashed 291-11 Cloud (1 1/4Yd) Cathy selected a coral print from the Layer Cake for the Cornerstones and for the Backing she is using Sunwashed Cloud 29160-11 (4 1/2 yds). You will need 3/4 yd. for the binding - see our selection of Sunwashed here. |
